Announcing the Vibrant Community Health Advisory Committee
At Vibrant, we know that the best ideas come from listening and engaging — with our clients, our community, and our partners. This fall, we’ve launched a new committee, applying this approach with the launch of the Vibrant Community Health Advisory Committee (VCHAC), a new subcommittee of the Sunnybrook Board of Directors, following our governance restructure integration this spring.
The Committee includes representation from Vibrant and Sunnybrook leadership, the Board of Directors, as well as community and client representatives from Vibrant— people who care deeply about enhancing and growing our organization along our Strategic Plan, and upholding our Mission Vision and Values. Our community and client representatives are able to engage with our larger volunteer Vibrant Community Council for insights and to understand some of the practical work being undertaken on the ground.
“I am excited to see the launch of the Vibrant Community Health Advisory Committee following our integration with Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre. This Committee brings together the voices of clients, community members, organizational leadership, and board directors to shape Vibrant’s direction and priorities. While the Committee has a governance focus, it is grounded in the belief that those most connected to Vibrant can best help lead how the service and programs evolve. It is a space to share ideas, strengthen accountability, and ensure our work reflects the values of independence, inclusion, and respect.”
By strengthening our partnership with Sunnybrook, we’re creating new ways to collaborate, share knowledge, and deliver care that meets people where they are. The Committee will play a key role in supporting this integration and ensuring Vibrant’s services continue to meet the diverse needs of our clients and communities.
“As a senior client with disabilities and a volunteer, I’m very excited to be part of the new Vibrant Community Health Advisory Committee (VCHAC). It’s a great opportunity to ensure that the voices of people served by Vibrant—especially those with physical disabilities, seniors, and others facing barriers to care—are at the center of how services are improved and integrated. As part of this committee, we’ll work together to guide the integration of Vibrant and Sunnybrook and help shape Vibrant’s programs and services. ”
With this newly founded committee, we’re continuing to grow our organization to serve more people in our community with quality services, and to prioritize equality and accessibility.
