What We Learned From Jane’s Walk 2026

On May 8, Vibrant Community Health welcomed clients, staff, and neighbours for a Jane’s Walk around our community. Guided by the theme “Nothing About Us Without Us,” we talked about what helps people feel welcome and connected—and what can make it harder to get around.

As we visited local spaces, participants shared how parks, libraries, and community centres support health and belonging. They also pointed out everyday barriers, including narrow sidewalks, uneven pavement, difficult curb crossings, limited places to rest, and unreliable access to free Wi-Fi.

The walk reminded us that the people who use these spaces should have a voice in shaping them. Thank you to everyone who joined us and shared their experiences.
