The Vibrant Community Council plays a key role in supporting Vibrant Community Health’s mission by providing advice and ensuring community representation in our strategy development, service planning, communications, sector and community engagement, and advocacy.

Why Join the Council? 

• Help plan and participate in a range of community events throughout the year, like Jane’s Walk, Pride, and many more. You’ll help design and support events that bring people together, celebrate diversity, and promote health and inclusion.

• Ensure diverse voices and perspectives are included in decision-making. Your perspective helps us make better decisions that reflect real community needs.

• Develop leadership skills through co-chair and sub-group roles. You’ll learn how to guide discussions, organize projects, and represent others in decision-making spaces.

• Build connections with others passionate about community health. You’ll make new connections, share stories, and learn from one another’s experiences.

Council Responsibilities: 

• Provide feedback on Vibrant’s programs, services, and initiatives to ensure they remain inclusive, accessible, and community-driven.

• Provide insights that reflect the needs and perspectives of the community. 

• Share stories and raise awareness of Vibrant’s services and initiatives. 

• Offer community-informed insights that shape Vibrant’s priorities and long-term direction — making sure our strategic goals align with needs of the Community.

Application Process:

The Council includes up to 15 members, including 2 co-chairs, and reflects the diversity of our community. We encourage expressions of interest from:

• Clients of Vibrant’s attendant care, healthcare, and wellness programs

• Seniors aged 60 and over

• Individuals with physical disabilities

Our current members already represent a wide range of experiences. As we prepare for future recruitment, we are especially focused on welcoming attendant care clients so that all community voices are represented in our planning and decisions.
